[ StarCraft Brood War Strategies ]

Ok not quite, I won't be yelling
at you, but keep in mind that this is to help your game play. So pay attention.
Step 1:To playing better is is to build more probes. Almost everyone I play except experts
don't have enough probes. How do you win a game like Starcraft? With money! You should always be building probes
unless you are playing ladder maps. Stop building probes after your first attack unless your first attack is a
rush. In a map like Big Game Hunters don't stop building probes until you max out. Oh yah! Don't forget to protect
your probes because they're an expert's and a smart player's main target. You should never have more than 1000
minerals, but if you hit 1000 it's time to expand which brings me to step 2.
Step 2: You should expand. People that play on Battle net don't expand. If you're in for a
long game make sure to expand because that doubles your money and normaly your man output. Ok you guessed it! This
brings us to step 3.
Step 3: Don't use too much defense. People make too many defense items like cannons and bunkers.
Men can do as much for your defense as those other things. Plus they're movable!! So never have more then 4 cannons.
I'm not sayin don't use them ofcourse they're great for spoting Dark Templars and Lurkers early in the game until
you get observers or science vessels.
Step 4: I know! Too many steps already and alot more to come, but hang in there. Upgrade! People
don't upgrade unless there a smart player or their an expert. I still have trouble rembering to upgrade, so don't
feel bad. If you upgrade fast enough you're way ahead of your opponent in the game because it takes more of his
units to take out less of yours. Don't just settle for one forge or armory. Make as many of these buildings as
are upgrades inside so you can be researching 3 or 4 instead of one at a time Last, but not least step 5.
Step 5: Practice!! To be a better player you must practice, practice, practice! I personally
play anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours a day, alot more when I have time.
Step 6: pick a strategy before you start the game. if you know their race decide whats your
best strategy against that race and use it if you run into problems be able to change your strategey quickly. this
is why we scout the whole game not just in the bagining
Step 7: Knowledge is god in this game. No joke if you see your enemys going air and your using
a strategy that u cant take down air switch as needed. Keep your game plan flexible but know what your doing. if
hes going air but aint got any yet attack that should give you enough time to get a new strat a new game plan think
on you feet.
Step 8: Know all races dont just play one you play one you get use to them and them only and
you dont get to know the other races belive it or no you learn how to deafeat a race bye playing that race you
learn their weakness every one says terran suck no they dont they are just very hard to play and you have to be
very strategic to play as them.
Step 9: Rushing is the best starcraft tactic their is a good starcraft player can stop it but
it sets them behind and you ahead of them in the game. im not saying always rush but dont discount it becouse u
think its skilless. not to mention you can rush with any race. Zealot Rush Zergling Rush's marine rush
Step 10: Know your units and what they do to learn more about units go here protoss unit training
terran unit training zerg unit training.
